Using the Visual Arts to Explore Religion
(In-Person or Online Sessions for All Ages)

I provide a wide range of in-person and online adult education classes that complement your congregation's worship themes, sermon series, faith formation studies, and/or mission opportunities. I utilize the power of visual art to teach individual classes and 3-course series on religious art (Christian, Jewish, and Islamic), church history, and Biblical theology. In my experience, many of us are visual learners. That is, we learn best by seeing and visualizing information. Yet, most religious instruction is offered through text formats (the Bible, book studies, and workbooks, etc.).The result? Studying the Bible, church history, and/or theology often feels dry, boring, and inaccessible or disconnected from our emotions and lived experience.

My adult education classes utilize the rich history and dynamic diversity of religious art to make difficult subjects more approachable. Through an engaging presentation of material and facilitation of discussion, I encourage individuals and congregations to expand their intellectual and spiritual horizons.

Please see below for a sample of my course offerings.

I charge $150 per 1-hour class or $400 for a typical 3-session series.

Contact me at [email protected] to discuss scheduling classes that serve your congregation.
